The realest voice in retail needed an AI assistant that matched Walmart’s dressed-down and friendly vibe. I developed the personality of this happy, helpful little smiley face and trained Conversation Design (and the LLM model) to reflect the Walmart brand and speak our customers’ language.

Text to Shop

Back in the day (2023), LLMs weren’t the only way to interact with a chatbot. I present to you Text to Shop—the easiest way for customers to reorder their faves, shop on the go, and get deals sent straight to their phone distraction-free!

I partnered closely with Conversation Design, Product, and Product Marketing to develop a voice for the bot that not only supported customers’ shopping needs but also added a little joy to their day.

Walmart Voice

There are a lot of things on the Walmart app… like A LOT. Voice shopping was developed to help customers navigate the app and get what they need fast. I was responsible for keeping the tone and voice right on brand every time a customer said, “Hey Walmart!”
